Guardian Application
Honor Flight would not be successful without the generous support of our Guardians. Guardians play a significant role on every trip, ensuring that each Veteran has a safe and memorable experience. Duties include physically assisting the Veteran at the airport, during the flight, and at the memorials. Guardians are required to make a minimum $550 donation to help offset flight expenses. Donation due by the Guardian Training Flight Event they are assigned.
Effective Jan. 1, 2026 ~ NEW Guardian Criteria Requirements go into effect. Be sure you meet these requirements before submitting an application.

GUARDIAN AGE REQUIREMENT: MUST BE 18 - 65 YEARS OF AGE ON ACTUAL FLIGHT DATE.

SPOUSE OR SIGNIFICANT OTHER OF VETERAN IS NOT PERMITTED TO BE THEIR GUARDIAN. ADDITIONAL FAMILY MEMBERS WHO MEET THE OTHER REQUIREMENTS CAN BE THE VETERANS GUARDIAN.

GUARDIAN MUST NOT NEED MEDICAL ASSISTANCE SUCH AS OXYGEN, WALKER / CANE / WHEELCHAIR

GUARDIAN MUST ATTEND ONE OF THE GUARDIAN TRAINING FLIGHT EVENTS OFFERED FOR THE PARTICULAR FLIGHT THEY ARE ASSIGNED. THE HFSI MEDICAL TEAM & BUS CAPTAIN MUST APPROVE THE GUARDIAN FOR FLIGHT DAY PARTICIPATION.

GUARDIAN DONATION OF $550.00 MUST BE PAID BY THEIR ASSIGNED GUARDIAN TRAINING FLIGHT EVENT.
- EFFECTIVE MAY 7, 2025 ~ ALL GUARDIANS TRAVELING ON HONOR FLIGHT WILL BE REQUIRED TO HAVE A REAL ID FROM THEIR STATE. CHECK WITH YOUR LICENSE BRANCH ON HOW TO ACQUIRE A REAL ID. A NON-EXPIRED PASSPORT IS ACCEPTABLE FOR TRAVEL.
