As we continue our commitment to providing a safe, respectful, and meaningful experience for our veterans, I am writing to share new policy regarding eligibility and disqualification for all flight participants.
Connection to Our Code of Conduct
These new eligibility and disqualification standards are designed to work in direct connection with the HFSI Code of Conduct released earlier this year. To protect all participants and maintain the integrity of our mission, we must follow clear conduct and background standards that align with the professional expectations of our organization.
Why These Policies Are Necessary

Federal Compliance: These criteria are formed in part by federal access-control requirements, including those used by Arlington National Cemetery.

Safety and Integrity: We must ensure that the background and behavior of everyone representing HFSI—whether on the ground in Evansville or at a military facility—complies with safety and mission integrity standards.

Standardized Reporting: These policies establish a clear process for identifying and reporting conditions that could compromise our operations.
How This Benefits Our Organization
By integrating these eligibility requirements with our Code of Conduct, we create a unified standard for everyone involved. This ensures that every Honor Flight mission remains safe, respectful, and worthy of the heroes we serve. It also provides our leadership and volunteers with a transparent framework for handling legal, administrative, or behavioral matters that could impact our ability to enter federal installations.
